On 01/14/2015, Harris County Constable Ron Hickman’s office was dispatched to a carjacking that had just occurred in the 14700 Block of Hoya Ct. in Northwest Harris County. Responding deputies were advised that 2 black male suspects had taken a Blue older model Chevrolet truck and trailer at gunpoint and fled the area.
Responding deputies were observed the stolen vehicle with both black male suspects near Huffmeister and HWY 290. The driver refused to stop and then abandoned the vehicle fleeing on foot. The other suspect was arrested at a location in the area. A police perimeter was established to contain the suspect and Precinct 4 K-9 deputies along with a Department of Public Safety helicopter searched the area.
After a short search the suspect was apprehended by the Pct 4 K-9, (Cir) and his handler, Sergeant Glaze in the back yard of a vacant home, where Cir bit the suspect after he failed to comply with deputies. Deputies also recovered the hand gun used in the carjacking. Both males were positively identified by the victim, and charges of Aggravated Robbery were accepted by the District Attorney’s office.
